Thinking about starting your own for-profit dog park? Lynn Badger, who in 1998 thought up and built Dog Wood Park (located in Gainesville, Florida) , the first large commercial dog park in the U.S (under new ownership as of May, 2006)., and then in 2003 opened Dog Wood Park of Jacksonville, the country's largest fenced dog park, offers fee-based consulting. She can offer advice on locating a park, getting the officials to approve the park, getting liability insurance, advertising, managing the park, dealing with people and dog problems, park maintenance, and pretty much anything else having to do with starting and operating a private dog park.

Lynn usually does telephone consulting, but also offers on-site consulting at either Dog Wood Park of Jacksonville or at your location. She charges $350 for the first hour or portion thereof, and $200 for each additional hour (or $50 per 15 minutes). She also offers a package deal of 6 hours for $800, and the 6 hours can be divided up over multiple days if you wish. The charges for consulting at your location are the same, but with the addition of all her expenses.
